With the Toronto Blue Jays making the post season it’s hard not to indulge in a few drinky-poos while watching night games.
So, how do those beers with the game effect your sleep? Timothy Roehrs, director of research at the Sleep Disorders and Research Center of Detroit’s Henry Ford Hospital, told The Huffington Post that, “initially you might feel sleepy and fall asleep easily, but you end up awakening more often in the middle of the night and the alcohol has a disruptive effect on sleep.”
It gets worse! Research suggests that after drinking, you don’t get the same quality of sleep which causes drowsiness the next day, plus headaches and irritability.
Still planning to indulge in the evening? Here are a few tips:
1) Stopping after the 2nd round
2) Have a snack afterwards.
3) Drink earlier in the evening rather than later (afternoon games will help with that!)
Here’s to an eventful MLB postseason!
