This is great news if you start every day with a cup of joe!
It turns out that your daily coffee fix does more than just wake you up in the morning, it also slows down the effects of aging. According to a new study in the journal Nature Medicine, older individuals who had the lowest levels of inflammation were all regular coffee drinkers.
“The more caffeine people consumed, the more protected they were against a chronic state of inflammation. There was no boundary, apparently” says David Furman, the author of the study.
And it gets better. Participants that consumed more than 5 cups per day had the lowest levels, which could help prevent many of the chronic diseases association with aging.
Now, somebody get me a coffee so I can be as fierce and fabulous as Betty White at age 95!
