I saw people sharing this story on Facebook, and naturally the title got me. I finally checked it out…and glad I waited until I wasn’t on air because I sobbed like a baby.
Audrey, single mother of 3, was feeling sick and had to go to the hospital. She asked her neighbour, Tisha, if they could watch the kids for the night. She didn’t have a close relationship with the neighbours because they work and she worked, but she needed their help. They obviously said it was not a problem.
Audrey was diagnosed with a terminal form of cancer, which obviously would shock anyone who got that news. She had to quickly start thinking about who would look after her children. She asked the Tisha if she would take care of her kids after she passed even though Tisha already has 5 of her own kids…but Tisha said yes.
After Audrey passed, Tisha and her husband Kevin, adopted 3 kids…making it a household of 10 (Tisha, her husband, their 5 kids and Audrey’s 3 kids). A friend of the family nominated them for a “Surprise” from their local News team
What a great initiative for a well deserving family. My heart hurts for those kids, but it’s nice to know they have a family looking after them.
