This is a tricky one. I understand why people are upset about the advertisement for a new line of KitchenAid appliances in the U.K. — They use the line “KitchenAid for Women”. It DOES sound a wee bit sexist! The thing is, this line is a limited edition supporting a Breast Cancer Charity which for some reason wasn’t as apparent on their site.
I would HOPE they weren’t trying to say Pink appliances are for women because girls like pink. The image posted online showed no mention of a charitable initiative. They also should lose “KitchenAid for Women”…perhaps…”KitchenAid for a Cure”
Perhaps on the website they should have made the charitable connection more obvious. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE the colour of the appliances. The thing that bothers me is the position “FOR WOMEN”…it could have been “For Women’s Health” “…For a Cure” “..For Hope”
Not surprising though, after all of the feedback the page has been taken down.
