You may have heard that London is looking to put in a bid to host the 2019 JUNO Awards!
It’s true and here are 5 reasons why you should be excited…
Full support from the city!
The City of London unanimously agreed to provide $500,000 to Tourism London as part of the $1.7 million bid fee that’s required. City council members voted 14-0 to support this bid process and they would only have to pay the money if the bid was successful. Tourism London estimates that hosting the JUNO’S could generate over $10 million for the city.
We all know London is AWESOME and it’s great to see that the rest of the country, and even the world, is taking notice.
Our very own Forest City has hosted some MAJOR sports & entertainment events over the years including; 2011 Tim Horton’s Brier, 2013 ISU World Figure Skating Championships and TWO Mastercard Memorial Cups!
Last September, London was buzzing during the Canadian Country Music Awards, which generated $8.4 million in economic activity across the province…most of which was right here in London!
We’ll add another exciting event with the Ontario Summer Games next August!
The JUNO Awards Show!
Not really much I need to say, the BIGGEST music artists in Canada would be in Budweiser Gardens all at the same time for an incredible night of music!
JUNO Fan Fare!
Much like our experience with the CCMA’s last year, hosting a huge awards show is WAY more than this a one-night party!
It’s a whole week of fun and excitement, including Juno Fan Fare, where you can meet and get autographs with all the artists….don’t forget SELFIES!
If there’s one thing we love more than an awesome concert, it’s a hockey game…so why not put them both together!
There are teams full of NHL alumni, the JUNO artists, local celebrities and radio hosts…all bangin’ and crashin’ for their chance to hoist the illustrious JUNO Cup!

This is really cool as there are trains that bring the artists and industry people into town for JUNO week and it looks like a blast. It was first introduced in 2003, came back in 2012 and was featured last year in Ottawa. There are impromptu acoustic shows, amazing dining and just looks AWESOME…too bad we already live here!
