For years, this time of the year would mean a new ‘Lord of The Rings’ or ‘Hobbit’ movie would be hitting theatres.
Alas those days are gone or are they? If new ‘Star Wars’ or Marvel film just don’t fill your fantasy void then do I have some good news for you. There is officially a LOTR’s TV series in the works.
Last week the rumour was that Warner Bros. Television was going to be bringing Hobbits and Mordor to your television screen BUT now, according to Deadline, it’s official that Amazon “has closed a massive deal — said to be close to $250 million — to acquire global TV rights to ‘The Lord of the Rings” and the series would be “a prequel to Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring, will be produced by Amazon Studios in cooperation with the Tolkien Estate and Trust.”
