As we know the release of Justin Timberlake’s new album Man Of The Woods is just weeks away!
He’ll be performing during the halftime show of Super Bowl LII on February 4th, the album will be out February 2nd, BUT a couple days before that he will be holding a very special listening party for fans at Prince’s legendary home studio Paisley Park.
Fans who will be attending paid $80 to hear the album early, and have agreed to drop all recording devices at the door so that nothing leaks out online ahead of the release (good luck with that!). Timberlake will obviously be there himself, no word yet on whether or not he’ll perform for the crowd. Now here’s the controversy…
Back in the day Prince and Justin Timberlake were NOT the best of friends. Prince had made some negative comments about Timberlake’s ‘Sexy Back’ claiming that “sexy never left”. Joking or not, Timberlake fired back with “If sexy never left, then why is everybody on my ****? Don’t hate on me just because you didn’t come up with it.”
HOWEVER that was over 10 years ago now, and Timberlake has since proclaimed himself a HUGE Prince fan, and lists him as one of his major influences so it looks like everything is all good!
